LMNO

LMNO (hint: say it fast, let it roll off the tongue) is a Corvallis, Oregon, based band of veteran players Page Hundemer on bass, Brian Bucolo on drums, Nick Rivard on guitar and vocals, Rob Birdwell on trumpet/flugelhorn, keys, and vocals, and with special guest for the 2019 Magic Barrel, Ben Mutschler on tenor sax and clarinet. LMNO has a diverse repertoire that includes original music as well as covers ranging from the Meters to Bach to Bacharach to Cake to Zappa.

Barry Lopez

Barry Lopez is the author of Arctic Dreams, for which he received the National Book Award; Of Wolves and Men, a National Book Award finalist, for which he received the John Burroughs and Christopher medals; and eight works of fiction, including Light Action in the Caribbean, Field Notes, and Resistance. His essays are collected in two books, Crossing Open Ground and About This Life.

Mosley Wotta

MOsley WOtta (aka Jason Graham) was recently elected the first Creative Laureate of Bend Oregon. His latest project, “WHAT COMES AFTER” was released in 2019. ​ Chicago born, Oregon grown MOsley WOtta/MO WO is a mixed media artist and performer. He has worked as an “Art Ambassador” for Rise Up International in association with the U.S. Embassy in Fiji, Australia, Nauru, and the United Arab Emirates. His work has been featured on TEDX, PBS, Street Con Dubai, Soul Pancake, SOFAR Sounds.

Apricot Irving

Apricot Irving

Apricot is the author of The Gospel of Trees, winner of the 2019 Sarah Winnemucca Award for Creative Nonfiction. She is the recipient of a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers’ Award and a Literary Arts Fellowship. Her work has appeared in Granta, On Being, and the radio program This American Life, where she reported on post-earthquake recovery efforts in the north of Haiti.

Lauren Kessler

Lauren Kessler is the author of ten works of narrative nonfiction, including her latest, A Grip of Time: When prison is your life. Her books have been Washington Post and Los Angeles Times bestsellers, Wall Street Journal and People magazine “best” selections, Pacific Northwest Book Award winners and Oregon Book Award winners. She is a (semi) fearless immersion reporter, blogger, hiker, wanna-be ballerina, quadruple Aries.

Suzy Vitello

Suzy Vitello

Suzy Vitello’s young adult novels include Jr. Library Guild pick THE MOMENT BEFORE, THE EMPRESS CHRONICLES and THE KEEPSAKE. Her award-winning short fiction and nonfiction has appeared in The Rumpus, Mississippi Review, Plazm, Tarpaulin Sky, The Southampton Review and various anthologies and other literary journals. She has been a prize winner in The Atlantic Monthly Student Fiction Contest, The Frank McCourt Memoir Prize, and has been a recipient of an Oregon Literary Arts grant.

George Estreich

George Estreich

George Estreich’s publications include a book of poems, Textbook Illustrations of the Human Body (Cloudbank, 2003); a memoir, The Shape of the Eye (SMU Press, 2011; Penguin, 2013), which received the 2012 Oregon Book Award in Creative Nonfiction; and Fables and Futures: Biotechnology, Disability, and the Stories we Tell Ourselves (MIT Press, 2019). Estreich has also published essays and articles in The New York Times, The Oregonian, Avidly, and The American Medical Association Journal of Ethics.

Keith Scribner

Keith Scribner

Scribner received his BA from Vassar College and MFA from the University of Montana. He was awarded Wallace Stegner and John L’Heureux Fellowships in Fiction at Stanford University, where he went on to teach in the Creative Writing Program as a Jones Lecturer. He currently lives in Oregon with his wife, the poet Jennifer Richter, and their children. He teaches in Oregon State University’s MFA program.

Joe Wilkins

Joe Wilkins

Joe Wilkins is the author of a memoir, The Mountain and the Fathers, and three collections of poetry, including When We Were Birds, winner of the 2017 Oregon Book Award in Poetry. His debut novel, Fall Back Down When I Die, praised as “remarkable and unforgettable” in a starred review at Booklist, is now available from Little, Brown. He lives with his family in western Oregon, where he directs the creative writing program at Linfield College.

Wendy Willis

Wendy Willis

Wendy’s first book, Blood Sisters of the Republic, was released by Press 53 on October 1, 2012. She also serves as the Executive Director of the Policy Consensus Initiative, a national non-profit organization devoted to improving democratic governance. In addition to publishing poetry and essays in a variety of national and regional journals and serving as an adjunct fellow in poetry at the Attic Institute, Wendy has served as a federal public defender and as the law clerk.

Sterling Cunio

Sterling Cunio

Sterling is a 2019 Oregon Literary Arts Fellow and a two-time PEN America award winner for his essay Going Forward with Gus and co-authored play The Bucket. The Marshal Project has also published him. Currently a University of Oregon undergrad majoring in crime, law and society, however, his passion is actually spoken word poetry and food justice.
